Alycia's Binding by Clover Coy
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
Note: I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Triggers: child abandonment.
I deserved better from this novel. Dixon deserved better. This novel deserved better. A better rewrite.
I only enjoyed Dixon and Grammy’s dialogues as they were trying to solve the main problems. I hated Alycia - and I don’t usually hate the main protagonists (female specially). But due to her constant ping pong about knowing the truth or not, being alone or not, loving someone or not - drove me nuts. Like seriously - is every 28 year old only obsessed with partners? Or do they have a life outside it? I just want to know considering I’m in my 20s. Should I follow Alycia darling or not? So many questions.
Seriously - the character development lacked greatly. The drama was exaggerated deeply. The resolve of the conflicts in between were too quick. And the sex scenes were of the wrong people - at least the hero and heroine deserved more hot and damn what scenes.
Though I’m glad this was a far quicker read - greatly helped with taking away the torture feeling of when this was going to end sooner.
This book deserved a better write. Hell a rewrite. I would’ve been so there for it if it had.
Anyway onto the next maybe better read,
TMR
