Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
“You took care of people by not letting them know how badly you wanted your life to be different.” Ah spoken with true experience. Felt deep here folks.
That quote literally sums up how I feel sometimes with other people I care about. You don't wanna burden them with your stuff, yet you're dying to tell someone something. A literal walking, talking contradiction to what you need most.
Fire Children. A broken down girl with bad luck being her shadow. A rich woman who shares a past with said broken girl and also has the infamous fire children. A story about what it means to deal with unexpected changes/surprises that you did not expect but may need in the end, and some parental lessons in the midst as well.
This was definitely unusual for me, as I'd never been pushed or even looked in the direction of books like Kevin Wilson's.
But I am so glad I was pushed in the direction to read this one. It was totally funny, witty and hard core relatable for me (despite not being a parent and not a kid either), also a pretty emotional experience for me.
It was fantastic and I hope everyone reads it, to enjoy such a rare gem in the book world today.
Until the next read,
TMR
